Trace McSorley & Marcus Allen Reunite Following Ravens-Steelers Game

Following Wednesday’s battle between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens, former Penn State teammates Trace McSorley and Marcus Allen reunited for a photo op.

Allen’s Steelers advanced to 11-0, beating the Ravens 19-14 in the unusual and sloppy game.

McSorley saw his first NFL game action of the season after Robert Griffin III left the game with an injury. The second-year quarterback finished the game with two completions for 77 yards and his first-ever NFL touchdown.

McSorley hit Marquise Brown for a 70-yard score late in the fourth quarter that sent social media into a frenzy.

Oh, and this stat is pretty cool, too…

Allen finished the game with two total tackles to help the Steelers advance to 11-0 for the time in franchise history.

This game marked the first time Allen and McSorley played on the same field since their time at Penn State. They were both integral parts on the 2016 Nittany Lions’ squad that won its first Big Ten Championship under James Franklin.

McSorley capped off his illustrious Penn State career by setting program records with 9,899 passing yards, 77 passing touchdowns, and 31 wins, along with many others. As a three-year starter, McSorley blossomed in Happy Valley, and his success in college was finally able to be translated into some NFL action Wednesday.

He was drafted by the Ravens in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Allen left Happy Valley with the fifth-most tackles in Penn State history, and his role on the 2016 squad highlighted his ability to make big-time plays.

The Steelers drafted Allen in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He has enjoyed special teams success with Pittsburgh and is currently helping his team protect an undefeated season.

As division rivals, Pittsburgh and Baltimore play each other twice per season, so we may not have seen the last of the McSorley-Allen matchup. Although both players aren’t starters, as long as neither is traded, there is at least a chance of seeing both of these Penn State legends on the field together in years to come.
