SPA To Host Leslie Odom Jr. For Virtual Lecture January 29

Penn State’s Student Programming Association (SPA) will host Broadway actor and jazz musician Leslie Odom Jr. for a virtual lecture at 7 p.m. on Friday, January 29.

Odom Jr. is best known for playing Aaron Burr in the hit Broadway musical “Hamilton.” He has also performed in movies such as “Harriet,” “The Many Saints of Newark,” and “One Night in Miami.” In 2018, Odom Jr. released a book, “Falling Up: How to Take Risks, Aim Higher and Never Stop Learning.”

Not only has Odom Jr. made his mark as a successful actor and author, but he is also a renowned recording artist. His self-titled debut made it to number one on the Billboard charts in 2016. Odom Jr. also had a successful holiday album, “Simply Christmas,” that made it to No. 1 on the iTunes and Billboard Jazz charts.

SPA is working alongside WPSU Radio to stream the lecture, which can be accessed by registering for the event.

Like every SPA event, the lecture is free for Penn State students and funded by their student-initiated fee. Students will need to verify themselves using their WebAccess IDs before entering the virtual event.
