Four Penn State Lacrosse Stars Named To Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American Teams

Four Penn State men’s lacrosse players were named to Inside Lacrosse’s preseason All-American team Tuesday night, including Mac O’Keefe, Nick Cardile, Gerard Arceri, and Jack Kelly.

Attackman Mac O’Keefe was named a preseason second-team All-American. The graduate student has been awarded three All-American honors over his Penn State career, as he earned second-team in 2020 and 2019 and an honorable mention in 2018.

O’Keefe holds the top two goal-scoring seasons in program history, with 78 as a junior and 51 as a freshman. His 78 goals during his junior season are a Big Ten record. O’Keefe ranks seventh in NCAA history with 192 goals.

Nick Cardile was named a preseason third-team All-American. The graduate student was named a second-team All-American in 2020, and in 2019 was named a USILA honorable-mention All-American. In 2019, the defenseman was additionally selected to the Big Ten All-Tournament team.

Gerard Arceri and Jack Kelly were both named preseason All-American honorable mentions.

Arceri was named a USILA third-team All-American in 2018 and 2019. The face-off specialist was also voted the 2018 Big Ten Specialist of the Year, and is a two-time All-Big Ten honoree, making first team in 2018 and second team in 2019. The graduate student holds the program record and is sixth in NCAA history with 509 ground balls.

During Kelly’s junior season in 2020, the midfielder was also named an honorable mention All-American by Inside Lacrosse and was marked an Academic All-Big Ten team member.

A schedule for the 2021 season has yet to be announced, but the team will likely begin its season at some point in late February.
