Penn State Lacrosse Ranked No. 2 In Big Ten Preseason Poll

Penn State men’s lacrosse came in at No. 2 in the Big Ten’s preseason poll Wednesday afternoon.

Maryland was the only team to sit ahead of Jeff Tambroni’s squad on Wednesday’s rankings. The Nittany Lions will face No. 1 ranked Terrapins on February 26 at Panzer Stadium, in a televised game on the Big Ten Network.

Additionally, three Penn State players were named to the Big Ten’s preseason players to watch list, including defenseman Nick Cardile, attackman Mac O’Keefe, and midfielder Jack Traynor.

O’Keefe in particular has been the recipient of many preseason honors, including being named to Inside Lacrosse’s Tewaaraton Award Watch List Wednesday. The New York native was also given preseason second-team All-American honors by Inside Lacrosse and USILA.

The blue and white will kick off their season at Rutgers this weekend, facing the Scarlet Knights on Saturday at noon. The game will be broadcast on BTN+.
