UPUA, First Gen Advocates To Give Away Free School Supplies

Penn State’s University Park Undergraduate Association is partnering with First Gen Advocates (FGA) to host a free school supplies tabling event for all students starting on Monday, March 8.

Both organizations will give away free packs of school supplies with items like folders, notebooks, pencils, index cards, and more.

UPUA passed legislation to fund this event in early February and allotted $5,053 of its budget for more than 700 school supplies packs. UPUA is hosting the drive with First Gen Advocates, an organization that works to advocate for and support first-generation college students.

FGA has a mentorship program for first-gen students, as well as various workshops for professional development, social events, and educational resources.

Eligible Penn State students can pick up school supply packs through the following schedule:

  • Monday, March 8 from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Pickup location: HUB patio)
  • Tuesday, March 9 from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Pickup location: HUB Pollock Road Entrance)
  • Wednesday, March 10 from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Pickup location: HUB Patio)
  • Thursday, March 11 from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Pickup location: UPUA Office 314 HUB)
