The Game Of Life: Penn State Edition

As kids, we all had our favorite board games that we loved to play. Regardless of what your go-to game may be, we’ve certainly all at least played the Game of Life before.

Picking careers, earning Life tiles, and racking in as much money as possible to retire in the ~fancy~ retirement home.

We decided to make the Game of Life with a twist, and turn it into the Game of Penn State. It’s full of classic Penn State experiences and most definitely simulates the life of each and every Penn Stater.

At the beginning of the game, you can choose to either start at University Park or a Commonwealth Campus. Regardless of the path you decide to start with, taking a photo with the Lion Shrine is a staple Penn State experience.

We also included our own version of Pay Days. Us college kids aren’t rolling in the dough, though. We just have our parents refill our LionCash accounts.

Going through the college experience isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, so we needed to include a “Drop Out” space and a few negative tiles. Getting locked out of your dorm is not fun, so try to avoid this space so you don’t need to pay for a replacement key.

All tiles with the Penn State logo are equivalent to earning Life titles. The goal is to collect as many as possible by the end of the game.

Who cares about buying a house and having kids,? Canyon in the middle of the night and seeing the Jonas Brothers live sounds way more exciting. Maybe not the whole changing-your-major process. But hey, that’s just life.

The Game of Penn State board includes many cherished Penn State experiences with room for more of your own if you decide to play. You can check out the full game board below and download the image give it a spin.
