Former Players, Fans Congratulate Penn State Women’s Soccer On 20th Big Ten Regular-Season Title

Penn State women’s soccer won its 20th regular-season title in the Big Ten on Sunday, marking another historic milestone for the storied program.

Despite the season being moved from the fall to spring in a pandemic-ridden year and starting the season off with a loss, Penn State showed incredible resiliency en route to yet another No. 1 seed at the Big Ten Tournament.

Fans, former players, and members of the Penn State community took to Twitter to congratulate the team on its deserved achievement.

World Cup winner Alyssa Naeher and Penn State men’s soccer head coach Jeff Cook were among those to shout the team out.

A few of Penn State’s student sections acknowledged the women’s soccer team’s impressive season, too.

Recently hired men’s basketball coach Micah Shrewsberry showed his burgeoning Penn State pride as well.

Head coach Erica Dambach also weighed in and referenced her “chop wood, carry water” mantra that has motivated the group for the past year. Apparently, it worked!

It’s safe to say Dambach is being rightly credited for an incredible run. Of the 20 titles Penn State has won, 11 of them have come under the current head coach.

Congratulations to Dambach and the rest of the team. Dare we say, “dynasty”?
