The Best UPUA Election Write-Ins: 2021 Edition

Another year, another round of compiling the best UPUA election write-ins. This year, just 3,307 students came out and voted for their next student government representatives while also spending quite some time selecting some very creative write-ins.

With so few students voting, this year’s list of write-ins is notably pretty short. But fear not — there was no shortage of mentions of other things full of that scream blue and white pride, including the famed Joe Paterno statue and the Phyrst.

Without further ado, let’s dive into this year’s UPUA write-ins.

2021 UPUA Election Write-Ins

  • Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick Star
  • Happy Birthday Austin — (Austin, if you’re reading this, happy belated birthday)
  • My mom
  • Zachary McKay and Lexy Pathickal — (Unfortunately, UPUA’s exiting president and vice-president are both graduating)
  • Meghan Markle — (Hey, at least she’s a Penn State fan)
  • Michelle from Panda Express
  • The cardboard cutout of Joe Paterno in the Phyrst
  • Donald Trump and Mike Pence
  • Jahan Datson
  • Mickey Mouse
  • Joe Paterno
  • Bert and Ernie
  • Lexy Pathickal and AOC
  • Mayor McCheese
  • Fantastic Mr. Fox
  • Karl Marx
  • The Suez Canal Ship and Tugboat — (They might make a good executive ticket if they weren’t already stuck in State College)
  • Donald Duck
  • Tariq Castro-Fields
  • Sir William Nye the Science Guy
  • ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
