[Photo Story] Penn State Football’s April 23 Beaver Stadium Practice

For the first time in forever, Penn State football had the opportunity to strut its stuff under the Friday night lights…in front of fans!

A decently sized crowd of seniors, underclassmen, and general admission fans filled the socially distanced bleachers Friday night to take in the Nittany Lions’ final spring practice. And although Beaver Stadium wasn’t #107kStrong, the energy and atmosphere all night long was undeniable.

Didn’t get a chance to be there yourself? Take a look through the evening’s festivities through our photographers’ lenses:

Students, shakers in hand, eagerly returned to Beaver Stadium Friday night to cheer on the team.

The Nittany Lions welcomed plenty of special guests Friday night, including Philly sports Twitter icon Giovanni Hamilton — a 13-year-old podcaster with a rare condition called Schwartz-Jampel syndrome. His visit to Penn State included run-ins with James Franklin and PSU TV Guy, but you can read about that here.

Before you knew it, the team ran out of the tunnel to get the energy up. Even with limited attendance, it was pretty darn cool.

Naturally, warmups ensued. Familiar faces like Sean Clifford and newcomers like freshman phenom Kalen King looked sharp before things got underway.

Moments later, wide receiver Jahan Dotson got the night started with a 64-yard touchdown to open the scrimmage-style practice. Not too shabby!

A number of special guests came back for Friday night’s practice, too. KJ Hamler, Micah Parsons, and more could be spotted down on the field as the event went on.

Did we mention how nice the moon looked last night? What a beaut.

Before the night ended, James Franklin and a handful of players took laps around the stadium to high-five some fans and soak it all in. In all honesty, it was a heartfelt way to end what’s been a difficult semester for many.

We’ll see you next fall, Beaver Stadium — hopefully a bit closer to #107kStrong, right?
