John Colaneri To Serve As 2021 Homecoming Grand Marshal

TV personality John Colaneri will serve as Penn State Homecoming’s 2021 grand marshal, the organization announced Wednesday morning.

Colaneri is likely best known for his work as a real estate developer and home makeover expert. You might’ve seen him on a few HGTV network shows like “Kitchen Cousins” and “Cousins Undercover” or “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

Colaneri is a New Jersey native who also operates his own design and management firm. He graduated from Penn State in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in labor and industrial relations and a minor in business management.

“I’ve worked with the Penn State Alumni Association for many years now, and when they called me up to ask me to be the grand marshal for 2021 Homecoming, it was a thrill of a lifetime, and I could not be happier to accept this and just have the most amazing Homecoming ever,” Colaneri said Wednesday.

Homecoming said each selected grand marshal “has made notable achievements within their field of study and career path” and represents the organization and university’s missions “in a positive light.”

Homecoming’s 2021 celebration, “Together, State Prevails,” will begin on Sunday, October 17, and culminate with Penn State football’s clash against Illinois at Beaver Stadium on Saturday, October 23. Its logo was revealed earlier this month.
