Downtown State College To Host May Day Art & Garden Walk Starting April 30

What better way to enjoy the spring weather than taking a stroll downtown to look at the local art State College has to offer?

The Downtown State College Improvement District is inviting members of the community to come to enjoy local art, artisans, cafes, and stores on Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1. Artisans will be located throughout 13 participating locations across East College Ave., South Allen Street, East Beaver Ave., and West Calder Way.

The free event will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Participants are required to wear masks and socially distance when possible.

Participating locations include:

  • Lions Pride
  • Growing Tree Toys
  • Appalachian Outdoors
  • Harpers
  • The Makery
  • Saint’s Cafe
  • Ethereal Boutique
  • Connections Clothing
  • Three Dots Downtown
  • 3 State Theatre
  • Lion and Cub
  • Go Candy Shop

Participants will also be able to enjoy various attractions, including planting their own flowers downtown and “Downtown in Bloom”, a community craft display sponsored by State College Community Land Trust, benefitting the State Theatre.
