KJ Hamler To Return To No. 1 With Denver Broncos

Former Penn State football star wide receiver KJ Hamler will be back to his old Nittany Lion number this fall.

After wearing No. 13 in his first season with the Denver Broncos, Hamler will wear No. 1 this year, the team confirmed Monday.

The Nittany Lion now joins a list of NFL players who have switched their jersey numbers after the NFL altered the rule this past offseason.

Hamler, who was selected by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, hauled in 30 passes for 381 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie last year. Over the course of his two seasons as a star for Penn State, Hamler racked up 98 catches for 1,658 yards and 13 scores. He even rushed for a touchdown against Pitt in 2018 as a redshirt freshman.

Repping No. 1 once again, Hamler will aim to take a big leap in his sophomore season for the Broncos. He’ll play alongside star Jerry Jeudy and fellow Nittany Lion DaeSean Hamilton, among others.
