Report: Penn State Football Punter Levi Forrest Enters Transfer Portal
Former five-star recruit Levi Forrest has reportedly entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to 247Sports’ Sean Fitz.
His reported entry into the portal comes just a day after the Nittany Lions gained a commitment from 2022 five-star specialist Alex Bacchetta.
Forrest came to Penn State last season as a preferred walk run-on from Richlands, Virginia. Kohl’s Kicking had him ranked as the sixth-best punter in the 2020 class.
He appeared in two games during his true freshman season in 2020 and was one of 21 players to make their Penn State debut. Forrest attempted an onside kick in the fourth quarter against Ohio State and Maryland, respectively.
Before Penn State, Forrest was a team captain for Greg Mance’s squad at Richlands High School. He was an All-State selection three times, as well as a four-time All-District honoree.
If Forrest were to leave Happy Valley, the Nittany Lions still have plenty of depth at both kicker and punter. Not only do they have multiple players still on the roster, including Jordan Stout and Jake Pinegar, but the team will also welcome five-star specialists Sander Sahaydak and Gabe Nwosu this fall. Additionally, Bacchetta will make his way to Penn State for the 2022 season following his verbal commitment yesterday.
