Class Of 2022 Guard Kanye Clary Commits To Penn State Hoops

Penn State men’s basketball picked up its first high school recruit under new head coach Micah Shrewsberry Thursday evening.

Point guard Kanye Clary announced his commitment on Twitter, becoming Shrewsberry’s first commit for the class of 2022.

The 5’10” point guard hails from Woodstock, Virginia and is playing at Massanutten Military Academy currently. He helped lead the team to an 11-8 record during its 2020-21 season. Coincidentally, former Penn State guard Rasir Bolton also played for Massanutten during his high school career.

Clary visited Penn State on June 2, and committed the day after. It was also his first and only official visit.

Before committing to Penn State, Clary held offers from Hampton, James Madison, Norfolk State, North Carolina A&T, Old Dominion, Radford, and Texas A&M. He fills an immediate need at point guard for the Nittany Lions, as transfer Jaheam Cornwall only has one year of eligibility left.
