Nittany Lion Earns Shoutout In LA Times Crossword

The Symbol of Our Best is known for its dancing skills, one-armed pushups, and trademark scarf. But now, the Lion can add one more qualification to an already-stuffed resume: crossword puzzle aficionado.

In a recent tweet, the Nittany Lion shared that the LA Times‘ weekly crossword puzzle recently gave Penn State a shoutout. Luckily, completing the weekly crossword has become a recent habit for the Lion.

At 10 down toward the top of the crossword puzzle, the solution “PSU” can be found with the hint “Nittany Lions’ sch.”

Penn State and symbols of the school are often used for other puzzles and game shows, including Jeopardy!. Thanks to the school’s well-known name, it’s likely this won’t be the last time it earns such recognition in pop culture trivia.
