Micah Parsons, Dallas Cowboys To Appear On HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’
Sorry, Eagles fans, but the Dallas Cowboys content is going to just keep on coming this August.
NFL Films and HBO announced Friday the Cowboys will be the latest team featured on the iconic television series “Hard Knocks.”
Since the show’s inception in 2021, “Hard Knocks” has followed an NFL team through the preseason in a documentary-style format to pull back the curtain on training camp and the locker room. This is the third time the Cowboys have been featured on the show.
Some of the major storylines for Dallas this offseason will be Dak Prescott’s return from injury, the Cowboys’ recovery from a disappointing 2020 season, and, of course, Parsons’ role in a Dan Quinn-led defense.
The former Penn State linebacker was selected No. 12 overall by Dallas in the 2021 draft. He’ll be the newcomer in an intriguing Dallas defense led by DeMarcus Lawrence.
Fellow Nittany Lion linebacker Jason Cabinda got plenty of attention when the HBO crew followed his then-Oakland Raiders during the 2019 preseason. Cabinda was heavily featured in an episode that documented his strong relationship with his mother and his path to making Oakland’s 53-man roster.
While Parsons will be a rookie, this won’t be the first time he’s been around a camera crew. Penn State was previously featured on HBO’s “24/7 College Football,“which is basically the collegiate version of “Hard Knocks.'” While the linebacker didn’t get much screen time back in 2019, he’ll likely be a key piece of the “Hard Knocks” 2021 season.
