Four-Star Cornerback Cam Miller Commits To Penn State Football

In case you haven’t figured it out already, July is Penn State football’s month.

Four-star cornerback Cam Miller is now the tenth (!!!) player to commit to the Nittany Lions’ Class of 2022 this month. He announced his decision to join James Franklin’s squad on CBS Sports HQ Monday afternoon.

The Jacksonville, Florida native is ranked as the No. 31 prospect out of his football-rich state and the No. 30 cornerback in the nation, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He’s received 16 total offers up to this point, and was also recruited hard by Virginia Tech. Miller announced the Nittany Lions and the Hokies as his top-two programs earlier this summer.

Miller just finished his junior year at Fernandina Beach High School. He hauled in three interceptions as a defender, but was also named the Nassau County Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for 1,039 yards, passing for 957 more, and scoring 17 total touchdowns. That incredible season was all en route to the school’s first-ever playoff win.

After his videogame-like junior season, Miller elected to transfer to Trinity Christian Academy for his final year of high school football. 247Sports recruiting analyst Andrew Ivins explains that while Miller has spent much of his high school career as an option quarterback, he “projects as a defensive back at the next level given his ability to mirror and change directions.”

If he does follow that path, Miller would be the third secondary player to join Penn State’s Class of 2022. He stands alongside three-star safeties Jordan Allen and Tyrece Mills.

Wherever Miller lines up for the Nittany Lions, his athleticism is certainly an exciting prospect. Check out highlights from his electric junior season here.
