The Nittany Lions have already welcomed three new coaches to their staff this year.
Loggains will take the role formerly held by newly promoted tight ends coach Ty Howle.
"This weekend obviously gave everyone a sense of hope in the fight against childhood cancer but just a sense of hope for normalcy as well."
Poindexter is expected to take over the safeties coach position left by Tim Banks.
"When I got into [coaching], this was my ultimate goal, to get back to a place that gave me so much. This is home for me."
