Three-Star Forward Evan Mahaffey Commits To Penn State Hoops

Penn State men’s basketball added its second member of the Class of 2022 Wednesday when small forward Evan Mahaffey committed to the Nittany Lions.

The 6’5 forward averaged 8.7 points and 4.7 rebounds a game in his junior season at Archbishop Moeller in Ohio. According to 247Sports, he is the sixth-best player in Ohio and ranks No. 185 overall in the country.

Mahaffey traveled to State College on June 29 on an official visit. He also held offers from Cincinnati, West Virginia, Xavier, Kansas State, and Western Carolina.

First-year head coach Micah Shrewsberry has been hard at work on the recruiting trail since stepping into the position. He already secured the commitment of Kanye Clary back in June and has added multiple transfers to fill out the roster for the upcoming season.
