Four-Star Guard Jameel Brown Commits To Penn State Hoops

The biggest recruiting addition of Micah Shrewsberry’s tenure in Happy Valley has just arrived, folks.

Four-star guard Jameel Brown announced via Twitter Monday he’s committed to Penn State basketball. The Philadelphia native flipped from Purdue to join the Nittany Lions following Shrewsberry’s departure from West Lafayette.

The 6′ 4″, 190-pound combo guard is undoubtedly a huge get for Penn State. He’s now the third-highest recruit in program history, according to 247Sports. Only Tony Carr and Lamar Stevens had higher composite ratings.

Brown played his high school basketball at the Haverford School in the suburbs of Philadelphia. His potential and impressive tape made him the No. 2 recruit in Pennsylvania and the No. 109 prospect in the Class of 2022.

The guard helped lead his high school squad to a perfect 28-0 season during his freshman campaign, averaging 11.9 points per game along the way. He also plays for Team Final EYBL along with other top Pennsylvania recruits like Derrick Lively and Otega Oweh.

He now joins Kanye Clary and Evan Mahaffey in the Nittany Lions’ 2022 class. To see more of what Brown will bring to Happy Valley, you can check out his MaxPreps page.
