Penn State Introduces ‘Art Adventures’ For Second-Year Students New To Campus

New to campus, Art Adventures is a co-curricular learning cohort that organizes arts outings for second-year students.

Led by Penn State students, the program is meant to immerse students who are on campus for the first time by offering a variety of events including comedy, live music, art exhibits, and more.

“Art Adventures is a nice introduction to the Penn State community,” said Lindsey Landfried, curator and senior gallery manager of the HUB-Robeson Galleries. “With a lot of different programs, everyone can find something they find fun.”

Landfried said she hopes the program welcomes students and connects them with friends on and off campus.

“It’s really about meeting other students and having gatherings in the arts,” she said.

While any second-year student can fill out an interest form, this program is primarily meant for students who are new to campus, majoring outside the arts, and looking for a way to get involved at Penn State. Participation is free, but spots are limited and offered to students through September 1 with rolling admission after the date if spots are still open.

In order to join Art Adventures, students must attend at least nine events per semester, be actively engaged with the program, develop and participate in regular meetings, and help form a meaningful cohort environment. The program will continue for the duration of the year with 12 events each semester.

Interests forms are located in the HUB-Robeson Galleries section of Student Affairs, or you can fill out the online form here.
