Pegula Ice Arena No Longer Offering Walk-Up COVID-19 Testing

Penn State is now offering asymptomatic walk-up COVID-19 testing at the White Building only, a university spokesperson confirmed Wednesday.

Previously, both the White Building and Pegula Ice Arena offered walk-up testing for both students and employees. Now, the latter is available only for appointments for those needing to take required COVID-19 tests, including student-athletes and those who are unvaccinated or haven’t submitted proof of vaccination to Penn State.

The White Building is open for both rapid testing and PCR confirmation testing from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday through Friday. Pegula is now open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Students experiencing symptoms should skip walk-up testing and instead schedule an appointment with University Health Services.

Unvaccinated students are required to take COVID-19 tests on a weekly basis this fall. Noncompliance can result in suspension or termination from Penn State.

In its most recent statement, Penn State said about 80% of all University Park students are fully vaccinated. About 83% of full-time University Park employees are vaccinated.
