Penn State Hoops Releases 2021-22 Big Ten Slate

Penn State men’s basketball’s 2021-22 conference schedule is set.

The Nittany Lions announced their Big Ten slate via Twitter Wednesday afternoon. It includes 20 total conference matchups for Micah Shrewsberry’s squad, including 10 at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The Nittany Lions have home-away battles set with seven of their Big Ten opponents, including Minnesota, Rutgers, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Northwestern.

Penn State will open the conference slate by welcoming the Buckeyes on December 5, followed by a road trip to Michigan State on December 11. Those will be the only two Big Ten games for Shrewsberry’s team in 2021, as it will take a break from conference play until a date with Indiana on January 2.

The Nittany Lions will play nine conference games in the month of January. They’ll once again take on Ohio State, play twice against Iowa, and take a trip to Bloomington to play the Hoosiers again at the end of the month. The Nittany Lions will also play Rutgers, Northwestern, Purdue, and Minnesota through the first month of 2022.

The group will play nine more Big Ten matchups over the course of February and March, and will close out the slate with contests against Illinois and Rutgers.

Penn State released its full non-conference schedule just under a week ago, which includes its season opener against Youngstown State on November 10.

Tip times and broadcasts for all of these games has yet to be announced.
