SPA To Host Musician & Activist MILCK October 4
Penn State’s Student Programming Association (SPA) will host musician and activist MILCK, also known as Connie Lim, for a guest lecture and “intimate concert” at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 4, in the HUB’s Alumni Hall. The event is part of their annual partnership with the Penn State Gender Equity Center.
MILCK first rose to fame thanks to a viral video of her and a choir singing her song “Quiet” at the 2017 Women’s March. The song was named Billboard’s top protest song of the year, and soon after, MILCK released her EP “Into Gold.”
As a survivor of domestic violence and sexual abuse, MILCK serves as a role model for those who have faced adversity. The musician and activist uses her platform to speak out against oppression and inspire others through her songs and narrative videos.
Like every SPA event, the lecture is free for Penn State students and funded by their student-initiated fee.
