Penn State-Ohio State To Kick Off At 7:30 P.M.

No. 7 Penn State football will see yet another prime-time kickoff this season.

The Nittany Lions’ road trip to No. 5 Ohio State will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on October 30 and be broadcast on ABC, the Big Ten announced Monday afternoon.

This will be the third prime-time ABC slot James Franklin’s group has played in this season. The White Out victory over Auburn got prime billing, while Penn State’s shut-out win over Indiana at the Stripe Out also saw a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on ABC just two weeks later.

The Nittany Lions and Buckeyes have seen several late kickoffs over the course of their rivalry, but the two sides haven’t seen a night game in Columbus since 2015. Penn State’s last two trips to Ohio Stadium, in 2017 and 2019, were both noon kickoffs. The Nittany Lions dropped both of those games, but Saquon Barkley famously woke up the early crowd by taking the opening kickoff to the house back in 2017.

Despite exciting moments such as that one, the Nittany Lions haven’t won a game in Columbus since 2011, when Penn State outlasted the Buckeyes in a 20-14 victory.

The Buckeyes are currently 5-1 on the season and are the highest-ranked Big Ten team in the poll. Ryan Day’s group also had a bye this past weekend, but will return to play with a road trip to Indiana before returning home to face the Nittany Lions.
