More Crowd Designs We Want To See At Beaver Stadium

Last Wednesday, the Penn State football world got rocked by the announcement of the first-ever Helmet Stripe Game. Although fans were certainly happy they’d get another pseudo-White Out, most recognized that the idea is a little bit lame.

But that’s beside the point. Is this the most groundbreaking and creative idea ever? Eh, that’s for you to decide. But it did give us some great ideas about some other themes we would love to see put in place at Beaver Stadium in the future.

Here are a few crowd themes and designs our visual staff came up with.

The Zig Zag Line Out | Rachel Padnis | Onward State

Straight stripes are old news. Let’s get a little wild.

Original Colors Stripe Out | Mikey DeAngelis | Onward State

OK, never mind. Straight stripes might be all the way back. What better way to honor Penn State’s original colors than by making Beaver Stadium awash in pink and black? Why should basketball get to have all of the fun?

Horizontal Stripe Out | Mikey DeAngelis | Onward State

Horizontal stripes are usually a no in our personal fashion (makes us look shorter and “boxy”), but wow — this would look awesome. This theme helps give the impression that the other team is the target with the crowd stripes circling in on the opponent.

Blue Out | Mikey DeAngelis | Onward State

It’s about damn time Penn State’s other primary color got some love. Countless beautiful blue jerseys have been purchased but have never been able to be worn in the biggest game of the year: the White Out. It’s time fans have an excuse to break them out for a theme rather than just a normal home game.

Checkerboard Theme | Mikey DeAngelis | Onward State

She’s beautiful. Now, this may get pushback from Tennessee fans, but we do not care. Just make it happen. If Tennessee would raise any complaints, just tell fans that it’s for chess. That is how we play chess, not checkers.
