Downtown State College To Offer Free Parking For Holiday Season

In an effort to support local businesses, State College has established a Holiday Parking Program that offers free downtown parking for the holiday season.

From November 22 to January 2, four-hour parking will be free at the borough’s Beaver, Fraser, and Pugh garages. Free parking validations will be handed out to customers by downtown businesses.

Free street and surface lot parking, within a three-hour limit, will also be available during that same time period.

From December 22 to January 2, free and unlimited garage parking will be available, too.

The Holiday Parking Program comes as a result of a partnership between the Downtown State College Improvement District (DSCID) and the Borough of State College.

“We are encouraging all customers to shop early this holiday season due to global supply chain issues and look forward to this program to encourage that behavior,” DSCID executive director Lee Anne Jeffries said in a written statement.
