Penn State-Michigan Tops Week 11 College Football Viewership

Although Penn State football lost to No. 6 Michigan on Saturday, it was still a big day in terms of attention surrounding the football program.

ABC’s broadcast of the game was the most-watched matchup across all networks in week 11 of the college football season. According to ESPN, the broadcast averaged 5,942,000 viewers throughout the afternoon.

Additionally, the matchup was the most-watched noon game of the season on ABC. It was also the fifth-most-watched overall game on ABC this year.

Down the stretch of the game, the broadcast hit its peak viewership at 8.7 million viewers. That shouldn’t be much of a surprise given the tight game.

Saturday’s matchup in Beaver Stadium headlined the best day of college football viewership for ABC since 2016. Platforms associated with ESPN also accounted for 64% of college football’s viewership minutes in week 11.
