Pinstripe, Las Vegas Bowls Most Likely Destinations For Penn State

Penn State football’s regular season is officially over, folks. The Nittany Lions suffered a tough loss to Michigan State in snowy conditions Saturday, and it’s now time to wait for the official bowl announcements.

With five losses on the season, experts have pretty much narrowed Penn State’s postseason trip down to four locations.

Jerry Palm of CBS Sports and Cam Mellor of Pro Football Network both project Penn State heading to the Big Apple for a Pinstripe Bowl matchup with Louisville. On the other hand, ESPN’s Mark Schlabach and Yahoo! Sports both see the Nittany Lions meeting up with North Carolina at Yankee Stadium.

Brad Crawford of 247Sports predicts that Penn State will head to Nevada to take on Arizona State in the Las Vegas Bowl. Along with Crawford, Stewart Mandel of The Athletic also foresees the Nittany Lions in the Las Vegas Bowl, but against the UCLA Bruins.

Kyle Bonagura of ESPN has Penn State taking on Arkansas in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee. Coming in as a bit of a wild card, Richard Johnson of Sports Illustrated predicts that Penn State will head down south to Jacksonville, Florida, for a matchup with Tennessee in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.

Penn State will likely need to wait until Sunday, December 5 to hear its postseason fate. At this point, it’s safe to say that the Nittany Lions will almost certainly end up in either New York, Nashville, or Las Vegas when they go bowling.
