Outback Bowl Student Ticket Sales Begin December 6

Penn State football is officially heading to Tampa on New Year’s to face Arkansas in the 2022 Outback Bowl.

The Nittany Lions will face the No. 21 Razorbacks for the first time ever in program history. Luckily, Penn State students and fans can grab tickets for the historic matchup this week.

Nittany Lion Club members and season ticket holders can head online to request tickets through a pre-sale until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, December 6. Penn State will allocate tickets based on NLC point totals, and requests won’t guarantee tickets.

Additionally, Student Nittany Lion Club members’ online-presale will stretch from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, December 6.

Penn State students at large can head to the Student Account Manager and purchase remaining Outback Bowl tickets from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7. Penn State Alumni Association members can request tickets from 10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, also pending availability.

Should any tickets remain, the general public can purchase them online starting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 9.

At the time of writing, no ticket prices are available through Penn State’s ticketing portals. Student tickets for the Nittany Lions’ 2019 bowl cost $50 each, for what it’s worth.

This year, Penn State will exclusively use mobile ticketing for students. So, it’s probably not a shocker that it’ll be far tougher to sit with your friends. Penn State said all student tickets will have corresponding seats assigned to them after sales close. “Sit-by” requests won’t be accommodated either, according to a release. However, those who purchase two tickets at once will sit next to each other, so bring a date.

Back in the old days (read: before the 2019 Cotton Bowl), Penn State students could pick up purchased tickets in person at the Bryce Jordan Center. You could make sure you’d sit with friends by picking up tickets at the same time.

More information about Outback Bowl tickets is available in this release from Penn State.
