Penn State Investigating Brandywine Student’s Alleged Paintball Assault

Penn State has officially launched an investigation of a student from its Brandywine campus accused of allegedly assaulting homeless individuals in Philadelphia this week.

According to a reposted TikTok that surfaced on Monday, student Ethan Pace allegedly antagonized homeless Philadelphians while driving by in the city’s Kensington neighborhood. The clip, originally posted on Pace’s TikTok account, also shows someone from the car firing what appear to be paintball pellets at the couple before speeding off.

“We have been made aware of this incident and are investigating it further,” said university spokesperson Lisa Powers. “We find the actions of the individuals in this video appalling, and we not only condemn violence, but also inhumane acts meant to demean and hurt others.”

At this time, it’s unclear how the university is investigating the incident and whether or not police are involved. Officials from Penn State’s Brandywine campus did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Comments urging Penn State to take action flooded Penn State’s Instagram accounts since the video surfaced. Actor and comedian Michael Rapaport even left a comment hoping the university would take action.

Pace is a freshman majoring in business, according to the campus’s website. He’s also a forward on Brandywine’s soccer team and appeared in 21 games this fall.

We’ll update this post with more information as it becomes available.
