Penn State Baseball Releases 2022 Schedule

Penn State baseball released its full 56-game schedule Monday morning in preparation for the spring 2022 season.

The Nittany Lions will open their season with two back-to-back weekends in Cary, North Carolina. Penn State will face Monmouth, LIU, and Northeastern the weekend of February 18-20. The following weekend, head coach Rob Cooper’s squad will challenge Maine in a three-game series from Cary.

Next, Penn State will make two stops in Virginia. First, the Nittany Lions will match up against UVA on March 4-6 from Charlottesville followed by VMI on March 8. The Nittany Lions will make one more appearance in Cary to play UMass before returning to Happy Valley.

Cooper’s team will face five non-conference opponents in March from Medlar Field before kicking off Big Ten play. Penn State will host rival Pitt on March 29 along with several other opponents throughout the month.

The Nittany Lions will head to College Park in their first Big Ten matchup against Maryland from April 1-3 and return home to host Bucknell on April 6. Overall, the squad will host 14 series’ throughout the spring from Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

Penn State will then travel for its final away matchup to PNC Park against Pitt one more time. That contest is scheduled for May 17 from Pittsburgh. This spring, Cooper’s young squad will attempt to overcome last season’s 18-24 record.
