Penn State Women’s Hockey-Lindenwood Canceled Due To Positive COVID-19 Tests

Penn State women’s hockey’s upcoming series against Lindenwood has been canceled due to positive COVID-19 tests within the Lions’ program, the team announced Tuesday.

The series was scheduled for two games on Friday, January 21 and Saturday, January 22 at Lindenwood Ice Arena. The matchups will not be rescheduled, Penn State said.

“The health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and the broader community are of the utmost importance,” the team said in a statement.

Since the series cancelation results in an imbalance in conference games played by each team, the CHA will calculate its final standings and playoff seeds using percentage of points won in each series, and the standings will reflect this change for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.

Penn State will be back in action when the Nittany Lions take on Mercyhurst on Friday, January 28 at Pegula Ice Arena.
