Class Of 2022 Offensive Tackle Jim Fitzgerald Commits To Penn State

Offensive tackle Jim Fitzgerald officially committed to Penn State football Tuesday afternoon, according to an announcement posted on his Twitter account.

Fitzgerald is the fifth offensive lineman to join the Nittany Lions’ highly-ranked Class of 2022. He will enter the program alongside four-star prospect Drew Shelton and three-star recruits JB Nelson, Andre Roye, and Maleek McNeil.

The Severna, Md. recruit previously split time at offensive tackle and defensive tackle for Archbishop Spalding High School.

Fitzgerald’s commitment comes just three days after he visited State College. He recently showed interest in a few other schools, including Connecticut, Maryland, and Virginia.

Penn State’s newest run-on commit will join an offensive line unit hoping to rebuild after finishing the season tied for 94th in the NCAA in sacks allowed. The group already lost a major leader when veteran tackle Rasheed Walker declared for the NFL Draft.
