Penn State men’s volleyball completed a historic weekend on Friday and Saturday when the Nittany Lions earned two wins and hoisted a new championship banner in the Rec Hall rafters.
The new banner recognizes Penn State’s 2021 Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association championship — the 32nd (!) conference title in program history. The Nittany Lions earned it after going 22-4 overall last year and 16-2 in conference play.
Once the festivities ended, the real fireworks began. Penn State opened conference play by pummeling Princeton in straight sets.
On Saturday, Penn State completed its weekend homestand with another sweep, this time over the George Mason Patriots.
Penn State sits at 7-3 on the season with conference play underway. The No. 5-ranked Nittany Lions continue their season with a road trip to Harvard on Friday, February 11.
