Hosting A Romantic Evening At THON

THON is one of the most rememberable moments of the year. For 50 years now, it’s been filled with concerts, line dances, and, of course, raising money For The Kids.

But you know what else is rememberable? A six-month anniversary. That’s right. My boyfriend (and Onward State associate editor) Frankie Marzano and I are celebrating our six months on press row today. Where else would we rather be than THON 2022?

In an attempt to have some semblance of a real date night, we set out to the concourse for some fine dining and drinks water, took a nice stroll, and came back to the arena to enjoy a live performance. Take a look at our special night.

Go For A Stroll

We needed a quick break from all the loud music, so we decided to hit the concourse. The sights of all the concession and merchandise stands were so romantic. We’re even wearing matching shirts!

We couldn’t decide what to eat for dinner. How could choose you with all the amazing options?

Fine Dining

We headed over to Chickies and Pete’s for two chicken cheesesteaks and a cup of crab fries to split. Like a gentleman, Frankie paid for our meal. There was no line, so our food came out pretty quick.

No, we didn’t eat with fine china, a tablecloth, or even a candlelit table. However, we made do. Look at the size of those sandwiches.

We walked around the concourse to try to find an empty table and stumbled upon one right by a trash can. So beautiful!

Being the good girlfriend I am, I fed Frankie his fries a lá “Lady & The Tramp”. Don’t get it twisted, though. I normally don’t do this, but I felt like being nice ~in the moment~ in the name of THON.

Enjoy A Show

When we were done with our meal, we ventured back to press row for a free concert. The Battle of the Bands had just started, and we were looking forward to the full setlists. We jammed out to Flooring Co. and Moonroof. In my opinion, Flooring Co. won.

After a long night of blogging, I reminisced on the time we’ve shared so far. Maybe we will come back next year for our 1.5-year anniversary. Or, maybe we will break up by then. Who knows!

Have any ideas for a date night at THON? Share ’em with us before it’s too late.
