OK Otter Showcases Versatility During THON 2022 Performance

Local band OK Otter performed for the third year at THON and certainly did not disappoint. The group showcased its musicality and versatility through an electric performance before the Final Four got underway.

OK Otter opened its set with Pharrell’s up-beat hit “Happy” before opting for a country twang with Garth Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places” and the Zac Brown Band’s “Chicken Fried.” The BJC crowd sang back to the band as members jammed out. OK Otter kept the crowd going with a Penn State classic: John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”

There’s been a lot of Taylor Swift played this weekend (as there should be) and OK Otter definitely got the memo. The band’s seamless rendition of “Love Story” only amped up the crowd even more. OK Otter obviously knows their audience because they followed up with “Wagon Wheel.”

OK Otter took a more rock and roll approach with “Woah Domino” and Elvis Presley’s “Hound Dog” followed by The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 miles).” The BJC was quite literally rocking.

They closed out the rock portion of their set with Rusted Root’s “Send Me On My Way” before cranking out some rhythm and blues with “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” by Stevie Wonder. Then, it was time to do an Irish jig to “Baba O’ Riley.” OK Otter doesn’t miss, folks.

The Killers’ “All These Things I’ve Done” gave a nice classic rock feel to THON followed by “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” by the Dropkick Murphys to close out an electric set.
