The Best Of #THON2022 TikTok

Another THON is in the books, folks. Dancers and spectators returned to the Bryce Jordan Center for the first time since 2020 to dance For The Kids this weekend. Everyone was eager to be back in person, and with that came some great TikTok content.

Check out some of our favorite #THON2022 TikToks from the weekend.

THON 2022, it’s been a long time coming. Alaa and her crew were extremely excited to head back into the BJC for the highly anticipated 46-hour dance marathon.

“Core memory” is right. Nearly half of the crowd this weekend had never experienced an in-person THON before 2022. Freshmen and sophomores, what did you think?

Is Penn State single-handedly keeping the clear bag industry alive? Maybe. If you didn’t buy a clear plastic bag, did you really go to THON?

You can always count on Katie Feeney to make a sick transition TikTok. The stands were packed on Friday night, and Feeney showcased the magic and electricity of the BJC throughout the weekend. Katie, we’re still waiting on your TikTok from Friday night. We didn’t forget.

One of our staffers hit the concourse to see which part of the line dance students and spectators enjoyed the most. The “we makin’ money in quarantine” move seemed to be a crowd favorite among those at THON. Penn Staters, you sure know how to bust a move.

My Hero Zero rocked the stage early on Saturday morning. Jason O, My Hero Zero’s frontman, filmed this TikTok about the band’s song, “Diamonds Up,” which was written in honor of THON. The State College band played its 12th consecutive THON and jammed out to cult classics like “Stacy’s Mom”, “Love Story”, and “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” for the crowd.

Penn State is a Team Taylor school. “Love Story (Taylor’s Version)” was played several times throughout THON Weekend on top of “You Belong With Me (Taylor’s Version)” and “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version).” “Style” and “Wonderland” made it into the queue, too.

Forty-six hours of THON (Taylor’s Version) would be the equivalent of listening to “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version)” 276 times. Who’s down?

Just in case you weren’t at Saturday night’s pep rally, Lady Lions star Anna Camden has you covered with a sneak peek of each team’s performance. If you want a closer look at the pep rally productions or you’re already feeling nostalgic for THON, check out our photo story covering Saturday night’s events.

Those 3 a.m. THON thoughts can be scary. We’ve been there. If you had an existential crisis at THON, you weren’t alone.

“I would be nothing if I didn’t have trash.”

OPP committee members, shoutout to you. The unsung heroes of THON, members of the OPP committee picked up ~trash~, mopped the floor, and seemed to have a blast while doing it. First ones in, last ones out. We see you and we respect you.

The moment that made it all worth it. A record-breaking $13,756,374.50 For The Kids. THON 2022, you outdid yourself.
