Berkey Creamery ‘Flavor Madness’ Bracket Returns Starting March 14

The 2022 Flavor Madness bracket just dropped.

The Penn State Berkey Creamery is kicking off its fifth-annual Flavor Madness bracket on Monday, March 14.

Each year, the Creamery pits 16 of its most popular ice cream flavors against each other in a bracket-style tournament. Penn Staters can vote each round of the tournament for their favorite ice cream flavor for a chance to win a sweet prize each Friday. Each week’s voting opens at 10 a.m. Monday and closes at noon Friday.

This year’s competition will run through Friday, April 8. The winning champion will be announced on Monday, April 11.

The left side of this year’s bracket features the “Creamery Classics,” including four-time champion Death By Chocolate, Bittersweet Mint, and Peachy Paterno. The right side features “Creamery Specialties,” including PA Pink Zone Strawberry, THON Gold Ribbon Ripple, and BJC Jams. You can download a copy of the Flavor Madness bracket here.

The winning flavor will be discounted by $1 per half-gallon from April 11 to 15 for online orders. No in-store discounts will be offered this year.

“The creamery’s Flavor Madness contest has become a hit beyond our wildest imagination,” Creamery sales and marketing manager Jim Brown said in a statement. “Each year, our participants increase and get excited to cheer their favorite flavor on to victory.”

Voting is now open for the Creamery Sweet 16, so cast your vote before noon on Friday, March 18. Is this the year we’ll finally see a Death By Chocolate upset?
