Jahan Dotson To Wear No. 1 With Commanders

Jahan Dotson will wear No. 1 with the Washington Commanders to begin his NFL career, the team announced Friday.

Dotson previously wore No. 5 during his four-year career at Penn State.

The Commanders drafted Dotson with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, making him the only Nittany Lion selected in the first round. Fellow Penn Staters Jaquan Brisker and Arnold Ebiketie are expected to hear their names called at some point on day two of the draft, which kicks off at 7 p.m. Friday night.

He isn’t the only Penn State wideout who’ll wear No. 1 in the NFL. Dotson’s former teammate and current Denver Bronco KJ Hamler rocks the number, too.

Dotson established himself as one of the greatest wideouts in program history during his time in Happy Valley. He ranks No. 4 in all-time receiving yards (2,757), No. 2 in receiving touchdowns (25), and No. 2 in catches (183).

The Nittany Lion will presumably debut his new burgundy and gold threads during the NFL’s preseason sometime in August.
