State Representative Candidate To Host ‘Rally For Reproductive Rights’ May 8

State Representative candidate Paul Takac will host a rally at the Allen Street Gates this weekend in solidarity with reproductive rights and safe and legal abortion access. “Rally for Reproductive Rights” will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 8.

On Tuesday, The Supreme Court confirmed a leaked draft ruling to overturn the Roe v. Wade decision. Roe v. Wade was a landmark decision in 1973 that established the constitutional right to an abortion.

“Join us as we rally in solidarity for reproductive rights, safe and legal abortion access, and the millions of people Roe v. Wade protects,” Takac’s campaign wrote on Facebook. “We encourage you to bring signs and wear comfortable shoes as we stand together.”

“Today I feel the horror, sadness, anger, and frustration that so many of you do,” Takac wrote in a statement. “With this leaked opinion, the highest court in the nation has effectively undermined our federal judicial system, eradicated the trust of the American people, and endangered the lives of millions.”

Attendees are encouraged to RSVP through Facebook, by emailing [email protected], or through Mobilize. Additionally, attendees are encouraged to come early to find parking due to Penn State’s graduation weekend.
