Penn State Hoops Teases New Uniforms

Have you ever wondered why Penn State men’s basketball keeps the same ol’ jerseys its been wearing for what feels like forever? If this is you, then you may finally be in luck.

The Nittany Lions will have a new look to begin the 2022-23 season, they announced via Twitter Monday afternoon. The team didn’t specify when the new jerseys would be revealed.

Penn State released updated uniforms before the 2016-17 season, but the kit still followed the same style the Nittany Lions had been wearing since 2011. The last major change to its uniforms came when the team removed names from the jerseys following the 2004-05 season.

Besides the typical blue and white, the Nittany Lions have mixed in its signature pink and black uniforms quite often since the 2014 season. It’s unclear right now if the upgrade will apply to that alternate set or if it will be eliminated altogether.

The Nittany Lions finished their most recent campaign with a 14-17 record but made an exciting run in the Big Ten Tournament before being eliminated by No. 9 Purdue.
