Penn State To Celebrate National Pride Month Events Throughout June
Penn State announced a series of events to celebrate National Pride Month this June. The Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (CSGD) will host LGBTQ+ movie nights, picnics, and more throughout the month.
Each event is a part of “Camp Crystal Queer.” Students who participate in the events can earn embroidered patches that will be distributed at the end of the summer.

Instagram Campfire Chat: What does Pride mean to you? — June 7 @ 12:30 p.m.
Join @PennStateLGBTQ on Instagram live to learn what pride means to students.
Lunch on the Lawn — June 8 @ noon — HUB Lawn
The CSGD will host a picnic on HUB Lawn. You must bring your own lunch, and a rainbow picnic blanket will be provided.
Pride Parade and Festival — June 11 @ 3 p.m. — Downtown
The Centre LGBTQA Support Network is hosting its second annual Pride Parade and Festival in downtown State College. There will be an after-party at the Sidney Friedman Parklet on Fraser Street that will feature live music, a magician, drag competitions, and themed booths.
Pride Party — June 14 @ 2 p.m. — HUB LL011
Food and activities will be provided at the CSGD as part of a “pride party.”
CSGD Cinema: “But I’m a Cheerleader” — June 24 @ 2 p.m. — HUB LL011
LGBTQ+ film, “But I’m a Cheerleader,” will be played at the CSGD. Other LGBTQ+ movies will be played at the center once a month throughout the summer. Popcorn is provided.
OUTdoors: Arboretum Stroll — June 28 @ 3 p.m. — Arboretum
Individuals can take a Tuesday afternoon walk with the CSGD throughout the Arboretum. This event falls on the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.
