Penn State To Host PIAA High School Spring Championships Through 2026

The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) has selected Penn State to host the PIAA Spring Sport Championships Festival, as announced by a release on Wednesday. Happy Valley will host the championships of high school baseball, softball, boys’ and girls’ lacrosse, and boys’ volleyball from 2023 through 2026.

The event will take place annually in mid-June with various University Park venues selected to host. Medlar Field will host the baseball championship, Beard Field will host the softball championship, Panzer Stadium will host the boys’ and girls’ lacrosse championships, and Rec Hall will host the boys’ volleyball championship.

Pat Kraft, Penn State’s new Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, expressed his excitement to be hosting the event.

“We are thrilled to be the home of the PIAA Spring Sport Championships Festival for the next four years. Every year, we are honored to host various PIAA Championships allowing high school student-athletes the experience of competing at high-level collegiate facilities.”

Penn State has hosted the PIAA championships for baseball and softball since 2012 and has hosted the championships for boys’ volleyball since 2005. However, this renewed selection is a success for Penn State and the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau who lost a bid in February to host the PIAA football championships.
