Penn State Women’s Soccer Names Ally Schlegel, Jill Jennings, & Maddie Myers 2022 Team Captains

Penn State women’s soccer has a new group of leaders, as the team named Ally Schlegel, Jill Jennings, and Maddie Myers its 2022 team captains.

Schlegel is entering her fourth season with the Nittany Lions, entering the year with 30 career goals and 16 assists in 58 games played. The Colorado native earned all-Big Ten second team following last season in which she scored six goals and three assists in just 17 games played.

After starting her collegiate career with Boston College, Jennings transferred to Penn State before the 2021 season but missed the campaign due to injury. She served as team captain in her senior season with the Eagles before joining the Nittany Lions and plans to see her first action since spring 2021.

Maddie Myers will round out the captains group and comes into the season appearing in 60 total matches with 40 starts for Penn State in her collegiate career. The Grand Rapids, Michigan native started in all 21 games for Penn State in her redshirt junior season.

The trio will hit the field again when Penn State gets back in action, meeting with West Virginia at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 25 at Jeffery Field. The game can be viewed on the Big Ten Network.
