Podward State: Season 7, Episode 2 Ft. Michael Mauti

On this week’s episode of Podward State, hosts Grace Cunningham, Connor Krause, and Shannon Smith are joined by former Penn State linebacker Michael Mauti.

Before the interview kicks off, Charlie Pegler reads some headlines with Hailey Stutzman, Keeley Lamm, and Mara McKeon. The crew discusses the possibility of alcohol sales in Beaver Stadium, an alleged YikYak bomb threat, and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity’s suspension.

Next, Mauti hops on the call to chat with our hosts. Throughout the interview, the Nittany Lion talks about his recruiting journey, his role models on the team, and what it was like to see his teammates wear “42” on their helmets in his honor. He also discusses his NFL career and his role in creating “Saving The Roar,” a documentary about the 2012 Penn State football team.

Podward State is an Onward State-produced podcast that releases weekly episodes on Spotify and YouTube during Penn State’s fall and spring semesters. Each episode features discussions with guests about all things Penn State, including sports, news, student life, entertainment, and more.
