Return To Palestra Highlights Penn State Hoops’ 2022-23 Big Ten Schedule

It’s time to gear up for Penn State men’s basketball, folks.

The Nittany Lions released their official schedule for the 2022-23 Big Ten slate, which most notably features a return to The Palestra in Philadelphia on Sunday, January 8, 2023.

Micah Shrewsberry’s crew will open up conference play with a home game against Michigan State on Wednesday, December 7 — exactly one month after the season begins with a Winthrop tilt.

The Nittany Lions will play 10 home and 10 away games within the Big Ten. However, one “home game” is at the historic Palestra in Philadelphia. Penn State last traveled there in 2020, when the No. 21 Nittany Lions squeezed by No. 23 Iowa in exciting fashion. This time, Purdue, who finished at No. 10 in the AP Poll last season, will be the opponent.

Penn State will play Indiana, Iowa, and Michigan State only at home this year, while it will only face Minnesota, Ohio State, and Northwestern on the road. The remainder of the teams have an in-season home-and-home series with the Nittany Lions.
