[Photo Story] Penn State vs. Auburn
Penn State is the only Big Ten team to ever play win at Jordan-Hare Stadium, folks.
After taking an early lead, the Nittany Lions cruised to a dominant 41-12 win over the Tigers. Our photographers were in Alabama to capture all the action. Let’s look back on the game through our lens.
Players received a warm welcome from Penn State fans during warmups.
Athletic Director Pat Kraft, President Neeli Bendapudi, the Blue Band, and the Nittany Lion all made the trip south for the game.
Players entered the stadium to the cheers of the Nittany Lion faithful who came down south. And, of course, boos rained down from the hostile SEC environment.
Penn State’s offense got cooking early, as an impressive grab by Mitchell Tinsley set up a touchdown for Sean Clifford.
The defense had some early fun, too, forcing an interception.
Back on offense, Penn State worked some magic with its own version of the Philly Special.
The “Penn State Special” set up Kaytron Allen’s first career touchdown. This wouldn’t be the last time he saw the end zone in Auburn.
The defense continued to shine, putting pressure on the quarterback and forcing turnovers. In total, Manny Diaz’s defense forced four turnovers and totaled six sacks.
True freshman running back Nick Singleton shined in the second half, punching the ball in the end zone twice.
If he hadn’t already, which he likely had, Singleton won over Nittany Lion fans with his impressive performance.
As the Auburn fans streamed to the exits, true freshman quarterback Drew Allar got some game action, completing both of his two passes.
The team was all smiles after taking down Auburn for the second year in a row.
There were almost no Auburn fans left in the stadium as the Nittany Lions capped off their win with some Blue Band tunes.
What a night. Soak it all in, QB1.
