Penn State Football Now Selling Chad Powers T-Shirts

The legend of Chad Powers continues to grow, folks.

Penn State football is now selling Chad Powers-themed t-shirts, the program announced on Thursday. The shirts go for $25, with $15 from every sale directly benefitting Nittany Lion run-ons.

There are three different designs currently on sale. Two of them feature Powers’ famous “Think Fast, Run Fast!” catchphrase, with one of them having Powers’ 5.49 40-yard dash time front and center on the shirt. The third shirt reads “Gotta Get the Arm on Tape,” which is another one of his famous sayings. You can buy the shirts here.

In case you missed it, Chad Powers is a fictional character played by two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning. In an episode of his show, “Eli’s Places,” Manning went undercover in full makeup, prosthetics, and a wig to turn into Chad Powers, who is a Penn State student trying to walk on run on to James Franklin’s team.

It’s safe to say the video has gone viral. Penn State is even hosting an “Are You Faster Than Chad Powers?” contest at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park prior to the Nittany Lions’ home game against Central Michigan this Saturday. Those who run faster than Powers’ 5.49 40-yard dash time will win a t-shirt.

Even if you can’t beat Powers’ time, you’ll still have the chance to get a shirt on Saturday. There will be Powers-themed shirts, different than the ones being sold online, available at Penn State Bookstore locations in the All-Sports Museum Gift Shop, the HUB, and sales trailers around Beaver Stadium. These shirts also feature the “Think Fast, Run Fast” catchphrase, among other designs.
