The Most Creative Cat Names From Centre County PAWS

Founded in 1980 by local community members, Centre County PAWS is State College’s non-profit animal shelter.

Volunteers and fosters work together to create a safe place for the animals and find them a forever home. The shelter allows walk-ins Tuesday through Sunday to visit the adorable pets and encourages people to get involved in any way they can.

Being a sucker for feline friends, every month or so I can’t help but scroll through the list of cats and kittens up for adoption on the shelter’s website. While admiring all of the adorable pets and wishing I could adopt one, I started to notice how hilariously creative some of the names of these cats were.

Every cat at PAWS is worthy of all the love in the world, but there are a few with names that seriously take the cake. Here are some of the most creative cat names from Centre County PAWS.

Cherry Pepsi

Cherry Pepsi, an adorable black and white kitty with one eye, found her way to PAWS from another rescue. Based on her bio, she seems like an absolute sweetheart and is even affectionately referred to as “the paws that refreshes.”

Gum Drop

Gum Drop is a senior cat who is just as whimsical as her name suggests. Apparently, she’s as sweet as a gum drop, too!

Milk

Just looking at Milk and his grumpy, old man face made me smile. I swear this 14-week-old cat is a grandpa in a kitten’s body. Plus, his coloring really does look like milk.

Moo Moo

Is that a cow? No, it’s just Moo Moo, a black and white cat with the prettiest green eyes and an uncanny resemblance to a dairy cow. Maybe she and Milk can be friends!

Jolly Rancher

Jolly Rancher is a senior cat who was transferred to PAWS from a different rescue organization. Her eyes are definitely giving off green apple Jolly Rancher vibes.

Pepper Potts

Pepper Potts is named after the character from the Marvel comics, which somehow fits this little black kitten perfectly. I can totally see her battling Thanos, can’t you?

Diesel

Diesel had my heart from the start. His goofy name was just a bonus to his manly little face and love for affection. If I could buy Diesel at a gas station, I totally would.

Forrest Gump

At first glance, the name Forrest Gump was a little confusing for me. When I googled the movie to search for any connection I might’ve missed, I realized this kitten does look a little bit like Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump. Maybe it’s the eyes?

Stegosaurus

Though she may look like a cute and innocent kitten, Stegosaurus’s name suggests she’s a strong little kitty. I like to think her pointy ears are actually her back plates.

Severus

Yet another cat named after a fictional character, Severus is a 10-week-old Tabby kitten. He’s clearly just as sinister as Severus Snape from the Harry Potter series. Just look at him!
